Anti Wrinkle Injections available at Bideford Hair & Beauty Salon

The most common form of anti-wrinkle injection is Botox™ - this can be defined as a drug prepared from botulin, used cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles and medically to treat certain muscular conditions.

In fact, Botox™ is a trademark for a preparation of botulinum toxin, type A. The name Botox™ is merely the brand name for the solution botulium toxin.

What Botulium Toxin (Anti-Wrinkle) Injections Do
Anti-wrinkle injections employ a muscle relaxant, normally Botox™ (as mentioned, a trademark name for a type of botulium toxin) or another brand which are used for medicinal or cosmetic purposes to prevent muscle spasms and twitching. It is a naturally purified protein. When it is injected into the muscle it temporarily blocks the chemical signals that make the muscles contract. Only minute quantities are injected and only the injected muscle will be affected.

Using different techniques, we can treat many different areas such as forehead lines, laughter lines, crows feet lines, bunny lines (lines around the nose) and eyebrow lifts in all different shapes.

Anti-Wrinkle injection Side Effects
Side effects are generally minimal, and temporary. Soreness or mild bruising, while uncommon, may occur around the injection site. Makeup may be applied after the treatment, but care should be taken to avoid pressing or massaging the area for several hours. A temporary headache is not uncommon after injections in the forehead area, especially after the first treatment. All of these possible effects are mild, reversible, and self-limiting.
